Built to look like an Arabian lagoon, this zone is designed to allow visitors to witness how oysters and pearls are formed in nature and explore the world of pearl fishing. Visitors also get to familiarize themselves with the animals that inhabit the coasts of the Eastern Arabian Peninsular such as Sea turtles. Amal (Arabic for ‘hope’), a rehabilitated Sea turtle, is the most important inhabitant of this zone. You will also get to meet Lionfish and Firefish.

While here, you can meet hundreds of coral and fish species typically found in the Arabian Red Sea. Meet Giant groupers, Humphead wrasse, Sea horses, and Warty frogfish.

You will Lobsters, Sea Sponges, Horseshoe crab, and Pufferfish. Do be patient here, it might take a while for you to spot some of these creatures as they are used to staying hidden to protect themselves from larger predators.

Duration: It will take around 2 hours to explore the aquarium fully.
Best Time To Visit: Fridays post noon, Saturdays and Sundays form the weekends in the UAE. On these days, the aquarium can get very crowded. Weekday might be a better day for you to visit the Abu Dhabi National Aquarium.

Al Qana is about 30 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and can be easily accessed by public transport.
